November 2016 Off Road Club Race

One of those interesting club race days; you expect very little interest and get surprised by a bunch of unexpected, very enthusiastic drivers. May I add; enthusiastic drivers from afar.. Thank you guys, you saved the day for us. If it wasn’t for your visit, it would have been a very boring day.

Award for best Presented RC body:

Gavin McLean

1/8th Nitro Buggy:

The Buggy race kicked off with a won by Gavin Mclean. Piet ended 2nd and Stephen Smith in 3rd place.  Herny Ogden drove well and ended 4th.

Zito de Abreau had a little car trouble, Martinette Huggett had a little more and Gavin Leisching sommer much more.  Paul Lombard wasn’t even at the track yet!

Quickest lap in Round 1 – Stephen Smith – 49.96 sec.

In Round 2 Martinette beat all the guys. With her average of 57s and her 7 laps completed, none of the guys was in a position to catch this woman! Henry Ogden was in a good shape and so was his buggy. Henry completed 6 laps and came 2nd. Piet equaled  Henry’s 60 laps and ended 3rd.

Paul Lomard has now joined the race and him and Gavin Leisching got 5 laps each. Stephen, Gavin McLean and Zito were having serious flame outs.

In Round 3 Gavin McLean repeated his previous victory. Henry ended 2nd  again, but this time with much faster lap times. We saw Martinette in 3rd place, this time around.

Fastest laptime in this round: Paul Lombard – 49.94s.

Buggy Final:

  1. Martinette Huggett  - 30 laps
  2. Stephen Smith  -  30 laps  (after 2 minutes + out of the race) Best lap – 48.48s
  3. Paul Lombard  - 30 laps

1/8th Nitro Truggy:

Round 1: Wayne Smith did 7 very satisfactory laps  -  best lap 55.78s.

Round 2: Dean Stoffberg joined Wayne and beat him with a fraction of a second.

Wayne 51.4s and Dean 50.76 s

Round 3: Both these two guys improved on their already fast lap times.  Dean beat Wayne again. His best lap 50.23s and Wane – 51.25s

Truggy Final:

What great entertainment these two guys spoilt us with?! They each succeeded in completing 32 laps.

Wayne still that 1 second faster than Dean.  Mmmm, not something that Wayne is used to in club races, huh? Thanks for offering Wayne a challenge for a change, Dean!
