March 2019 Electric On road club race:

Phew… what a scorching hot day at the track?!

The usual Meyerton Raceway crowd plus an old friend, Franco Gresele.

 

But the nicest surprise of the day was meeting a brand new father and son team, namely Martin and Owen Stevens. And oh boy, did these two surprise us…! They really performed well for novices. A bit of teething problems with the set up of little Owen’s car – to suit his driving style – but I have no doubt that he will become one of our best drivers in future. We sincerely hope that we will see much more of you two in future. You are very welcome.

 

And with lots and LOTS of laugter, caused by our local clown, Louis Nortje, the day went by very pleasantly.

I keep on begging the winners to smile when I take their pictures, So I started make funny noices to get them to smaile.

Nowadays Louis does this for me and THAT forces the drivers to smile spontaneous. They just can't help but laugh at him and I get the nice pics. 

Beginner class:

Martin Stevens and his son Owen were the only two beginner drivers today.

540 class:

21.5 Touring:

Henry Ogden was doing so well, but a Dean plug that came lose, spoilt his performance in the last leg of the finals. What a bummer.

Esmarie achieved some 19 second laps again today. Whoop whoop!

Marchel van Rooyen also got several 19 sc laps. Way to go, Marchel!

Electric Mini:

Louis (the Clown) Nortje het mos gaan krap waar dit nie jeuk nie. En so het hy homself uit die Top 3 gekrap toe hy gaan stel het waar daar nie fout was nie. Sy lap tyd van 23 sekondes na 26 verswak. Eish man… dit werk mos nie so nie?
