A bit of background info: The founding meeting was held at the home of Henry Ogden, that is adjacent to the tracks, on December 10 th 2008.
A beautiful day for outdoor fun. The majority of the day’s entries were regulars, with the occasional newbie amongst us. We were exceptionally interested to see how the new - and very excited - small boy named Mardre Massyn was going to perform in his very first race. He obtained his car just recently and only had one or two opportunities to get the feel of it. In retrospect, I can now say that he did splendidly!!
I had my biggest mishap in 8 years; I lost almost all of the photos that I have taken of this race meeting, by accidently deleting it, whilst downloading it from my cellular phone. I sincerely appologize..!
Beginner Class:
Today we had only two entries, Victor Fourie and Mardre Massyn.
Victor upped his lap time from 33sec average to 27.36 sec. His best lap for the day - 25.58s. Congrats with winning today and taking home your first 1st place trophy!
Mardre’s average for the day was 34 seconds – over 4 rounds ( 37 laps) - and his quickest lap 29.37s. It was an honor for me to assure his dad that this was actually VERY good lap times for a novice. With 8 years of experience with new drivers every week, I can unconditionally state this as a fact. We are looking forward to witness this child’s progress.
Electric Mini:
Paul Langenhoven won the two qualifier rounds and Jakkie Landsberg the two Final legs in this class. Jason Landsberg and Ewald van der Neut did not make it easy for them, though…
Janu Lombard and Henry Ogden had variable degrees of success.. Jakkie is the only driver to boast lap times of 20.-something. Way to go, Jakkie!!

Electric TTO1 stock class:
Rolan Ferreira was the TTO1 king for this race meeting, but with strong competition from his rivals. Janu Lombard, Kevin Gates and Charmaine Wright made him work hard to step out as the overall winner for of the day. Rolan’s fastest lap – 20.11sec. Well done!!

540 Stock Touring:
Jakkie Landsberg had been the local club’s undeniable champ in this class for a long time. For now, that is… because his son Jason might just contest his current reining and put an end to it. We know Jason is capable to do just that.. Let’s wait and see. See Overall results below. Husband and wife team Graham (Tiny) and Charmaine Wright honored us with their presence this month. (They are more than often too engaged in family matters to join us) Haha. Both very efficient drivers and as usual they performed better than sommer just average… Anzea Pretorius and Anette (that’s me) were not doing too badly either. For the first time I also enjoyed racing myself. Normally I compete because everyone expects me to…. I am quite chuffed with bringing my average lap time down to less than 24 seconds.

21.5 Touring:
Rolan Ferreira won each and every round in this class. At his heels was either Kevin Gates or Paul Langenhoven. Ewald van der Neut was a worthy opponent, as was track owner, Henry Ogden. Henry competed in this class for the first time ever. The five drivers kept their average lap time between 19 and 21 seconds. In other words, they were very compatible.

17.5 Touring:
This can be quite a big class, but this month we only saw four entries. As many times before, Jason Landsberg dominated the 17.5 class. If it wasn’t for that one single lap of 16.94 seconds of André Steenekamp, Jason would have been the only one to achieve laps of less than 17 seconds. Watch out, Jason, André is coming for you! And don’t be too comfortable, your dad Jakkie and Kevin Gates are also creeping closer to the evading 16 second boundary.

Best Presented Car of the Day:
Jason Landsberg’s freshly painted car. Beautiful! Congrats…
