A quiet day at the track.. Quiet, but pleasantly enough.

Being outside in the open air, with bare arms and short sleeves in Gauteng winter months is reason to be complacent with life in general. Combine this with good friends and friendly RC racing challenges and you have an excellent recipe for a really good Sunday. And that was exactly what we had.

We as organizers, but especially Henry and his right hand André Steenekamp, used this race meeting to test our new timing system. Although it had been a smallish race, it was a good enough opportunity to make sure that they understand the operation of the system. All went well.

In the 1^st qualifier round Rolan Ferreira won the race convincingly. His best lap - 17.44s

In the 2^nd qualifier André Steenekamp took the lead over and forced Rolan one place down. André’s best lap - 17.24s

In the 3^rd qualifier Rolan took the 1^st place back. He now improved to a fastest lap of 17.3s

(Andre now achieved a 17.05, but he suffered a flame out)

FINAL GT :

The 30 minute Final race was won by André, who boasts several 16. Something laps. Andre completed 97 beautiful laps. His best lap for the day – 16.66sec. Whoop whoop!

Rolan Ferreira completed 94 laps His best lap – 17.22 Good job!

3^rd on the podium was Francois Geyser   He completed 84 laps   Quickest lap - 18.05s Yes!!!!!!

4^th was Esmarie Geyser. This lady is going places !! She delivered her best performance in the 3^rd qualifier. Quickest lap - 18.59s Hooray!!!

She completed 78 laps in the Finals.

Henry completed 76 laps of which the best one was 19.93s.

 

NO FLAMEOUTS during the whole 30 minute race!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think this might just be a club record.
